As 2025 comes to a close, I just wanted to say Happy New Year, everyone!
I've been remiss in my sending out monthly newsletters and I'm so sorry about that, but the last part of this year has been difficult for me writing-wise. I've struggled with a couple of the stories I've been working on and it's taken me a while to get beck into the writing groove. I hope to do better in 2026.
Okay, now on to some year-end news.
Here's what's going on...
As I said, writing was more challenging for me this year, Despite that, I did manage to publish a few things...
For those not familiar with His Elevator Pitch, it’s short story that appeared in a charity anthology for the Read the Rainbow signing earlier this year. It’s now available as a free gift when you sign up for my newsletter.
Footprints on My Heart was in some ways a surprise. It wasn’t originally on my radar, but it was inspired by a writing prompt and the characters started chattering in my head. I really love how it turned out. If you like contemporary paranormal romance, please give this one a try! https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0F67LMD7P
Lastly, I wrote a new short story in the SEAsons of Love series for the Romance in Winter anthology. It’s called Yule Meet Again and it’s about guys who haven’t seen each other in over twenty year (since high school) and run into each other at an LGBTQ+ meet-up on a Christmas cruise. If you haven’t read it yet, you can get the anthology here: https://books2read.com/u/4EYv9z
And the rest of the series is available in my bookstore: https://rjpeterson-shop.fourthwall.com/.../seasons-of-love For this interested in such things, when I get my rights to the story back in mid-2026, my plan is to publish the short story on my own, along with a box-set of all 5 stories in both ebook and paperback format.
I did manage to write almost 70,000 words this year. Not a lot (and less than last year), but from someone who five years ago didn’t think they were a writer, I’d say that’s pretty damn good!
Lastly, according to my Kindle app, I read 104 books this year.
I'm thrilled to announce that the first book I wrote, Love on the Horizon, is coming to audio in early 2026! Keven Earlywine is narrating and yesterday I got to listen to the first 15 minutes - it's so good!!! I can't wait for you all to hear his amazing performance!
